We had overnight flurries that ended up leaving about two inches of snow on the ground. It was around sunrise when I went out and started watching the birds. Our resident Cardinal was defending his territory and his wonderful red color stood out even more with all the fresh snow.

…at least he was at the time, those are blades of grass next to this baby Killdeer, he was walking around at my cousins farm one day. The parents lost track of two of the babies and I just happened to be out taking photos when I spotted him. I grabbed a couple of shots and steered him back towards his family.
